Nagaland Zeliang People Organization (NZPO) and Chang Union Dimapur (CUD) have extended their support to the ultimatum severed on the state government by Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) to issue foothill road work order.
NZPO: Nagaland Zeliang People Organization (NZPO) through its media cell stated that the alignment of the Foothills Road, as emphasized by the twelve tribes of Nagaland, cannot be altered without the explicit written consent of the NFHRCC.
Acknowledging the “urgency and validity” of NFHRCC’s appeal for decisive action, NZPO said that timely issuance of work orders was integral to achieving transparency, accountability, and equitable implementation of infrastructure projects, which were critical to the socio-economic development of Nagaland.
NZPO maintained that “protracted delays and bureaucratic inefficiencies” surrounding the foothill road project have severely hindered the progress of essential infrastructure development.
The organisation expressed belief that “further inaction” could jeopardize public trust and strain the unity among the tribes. NZPO has, therefore, called upon the state government to heed the collective voice of the 12 tribes and take immediate measures to meet NFHRCC’s “rightful demands” within the stipulated timeframe. It cautioned that any further neglect would be a disservice to the aspirations of the people and the shared vision of a developed and connected Nagaland.
CUD: Chang Union Dimapur (CUD) has extended its support and affirmed to stand with the ultimatum severed on the state government by NFHRCC.
CUD through its president C. Bendang Chang and general secretary S. Imtisosang Chang described the foothill road as “a dream project” for the Naga people and Nagaland in general.
Reiterating its unflinching support to NFHRCC, the union said it was “always ready and open” to accept any decision made by NFHRCC.
Stating that Rs. 148.5 crore has been sanctioned for the project, CUD has sought the state government’s immediate redressal. Meanwhile, CUD has called upon the people of Nagaland to extend support to NFHRCC.
