The ongoing expansion and renovation of Dimapur Airport’s terminal building is set for completion by March 2025, according to M. Raja Kishore, Regional Executive Director (RED) of the North East Region, Guwahati, a DIPR report stated.
Kishore made the announcement during his inspection of the airport on December 7, 2024. After a review meeting with the Airport director and officials, Kishore assured that the enhanced terminal facilities would bolster the airport’s capacity and connectivity.
During his visit, Kishore also attended the 25th Hornbill Festival in Kohima, where he experienced Nagaland’s rich cultural heritage. The official also called on chief minister Neiphiu Rio during which the meeting focused on resolving the land-related issues to upgrade Dimapur airport to international standards.
The chief minister assured expedited action to address these issues, to enable better aircraft operations and improved connectivity. Discussions also centered on promoting Nagaland’s tourism potential, enhancing organic cargo exports, with suggestions from local chambers of commerce.
Kishore emphasized the need to enhance business and entrepreneurship opportunities, generate employment and strengthen connectivity through Dimapur airport.
