Hornbill Fest changing mindsets: Vikheho

Former minister, Y. Vikheho Swu, who graced the third day of the Hornbill Extension, said that Hornill Festival has changed the mindsets of Naga people and called upon the general public to change their mindsets and adapt to the changing times keeping in mind the global status of the Hornbill Festival, which has put Nagaland in international limelight.


According to Media Cell of NDPP Pughoboto Region 13th A/C, Vikheho was speaking as the guest of honour in Zunheboto on December 7.The event was organsied organized by Sumi Youth Organization.


He said Hornbill Festival has put Nagaland into the limelight with the participation of partner countries and added that without the Hornbill Festival, countries would not be keen to invest in Nagaland. He therefore urged the gathering to view the festival in that perspective.


Vikheho also encouraged the gathering to make full use of the time during Hornbill Festival to attract tourists and also urged the organising committee of the Hornbill extension in Zunheboto, the Sumi Youth Front and the youths to upskill themselves for the future.
Vikheho was accompanied by office bearers from the NDPP Pughoboto Region and the NDPP Central Executive Body members.


Earlier, extending greetings, Vitoli Rochill, president of Sumi Hoho, expressed gratitude to the honorable guests, including the Sumi Kukami Hoho, Town GB Association, and various other organizations for their support.


A special presentation was made by the youth of ZTSBC from Amiphoto Colony, who performed a traditional cultural display inspired by the customs of their forefathers, Inakha and Ghonili. The programme was hosted by Nisana T. Zhimo, Assistant Professor at Zunheboto Government College, and Tonoto Zhimomi, a Global Model India.


The event was chaired by Hukatoli H. Awomi, councillor of Zunheboto Town Council (ZTC) and invocation by Rev. Inakhu Sumi, pastor of ZTSBC.
