Unity Mini Hornbill Festival concludes

The three-day closing programme of Unity Mini Hornbill Festival cum Pre-Christmas celebration was held at DC Office Complex, Peren District Hq. on December 7.


According to DIPR report, the programme was graced by Deputy Chief Minister and Minister in-charge of Planning & Transformation and National Highways, T.R. Zeliang as special guest and NZPO president, Zandi Domta as chief host.


T.R. Zeliang in his address thanked all the members of the organising committee for their efforts and sacrifice in making the Unity Mini Hornbill Festival a success. He encouraged all the government officers and staff of various departments to work for the general public with enthusiasm. Zandi Domta, in his short speech, thanked the Deputy Commissioner and Organising Committee for inviting him to be a part of the event.

He described the incumbent Deputy Commissioner of Peren as dedicated officer who has been working tirelessly for uplifting the people of the district, and for which he extended appreciation on behalf of the Tribal Hohos.

With the celebration of this Unity Mini Hornbill Festival, Zandi called for unity and oneness among the people of Peren District in order to take the district forward. Earlier, Pastor KBA (N), Rev. Tongpu Singson offered the invocation, followed by welcome address delivered by Rongmei Council Peren, president, Jangdiat Gonmei.


Meanwhile, the programme also witnessed a Christmas message by St. Xavier College, Jalukie principal, Fr. Dr. Francis Cheerangal, special presentation by winner of Peren Voice Impact Season 9, Keyicitube Nza and distribution of prizes and certificates to the winners of various competitive events by the special guest and chief host. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by convenor of Planning Committee.
