Zhaleo calls for quality education

Advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio encouraged the Ato Area Students Union (AASU) to look after the welfare of the students and develop quality education at all levels.

Zhaleo was speaking on the second day of the three-day 29th conference of AASU held under the theme “Present efforts, Future legacy” at Toshiho Village hosted by Toshiho Ghami Kiphimi Kuqhakulu on Saturday.

Mentioning that “without strong foundation, the structure cannot be stable”, he appealed the parents to give proper direction and career guidance to children.

Zhaleo also said that it was time for Nagas to revisit the rich cultural heritage and traditions which has been diminishing day by day among the youngsters.

He highlighted how the rich Naga cultural heritage has been introduced to the world through Hornbill Festival and appealed the people to not criticize the Hornbill Festival, but to look on its positive side as it has become a Mega festival and has brought global recognition to the Nagas.

He further called for promotion of the rich cultures and traditions of Nagas amongst the youngsters at village and district levels. The comperes for the program were Kitoshi Awomi and Inahuto Swu while presidential address was delivered by Kato Y Chishi and concluded with general secretary report by Ahikali Yepthomi.
