Manipur Police refutes NSCN (I-M) allegation

Manipur Police has strongly denied allegations made by NSCN (I-M) accusing the Ukhrul Superintendent of Police (SP) of aiding Kuki militants, calling the claims “blatantly false.”
In a statemetn issue on Sunday, Manipur police clarified that Ukhrul district police had acted in response to a request from the Border Security Force (BSF) and Kangpokpi district police, and as per the directives from police headquarters.
It said that the district police provided guides to assist a BSF team traveling to Molham Kuki village on December 12 and December 19, 2024.
Additionally, Ukhrul police extended security escorts to trucks transporting laborers and materials required for constructing security barracks in Molham Kuki village to accommodate BSF personnel.
The statement emphasised that posting or publishing such unverified facts was wrong, and tarnished the image of the Ukhrul district police and reputation of the SP.
The police appealed all to verify facts before putting things in public domain during these sensitive times when efforts were being made from all fronts to bring peace and restore normalcy in the state.
