Ao bodies warn Khango-led NSCN for targeting Aolemba

Ao Civil bodies– Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) and Ao Senso Telongjem Chümoukedima- have in separate statements, expressed strong condemnations and serious concern -over targeting a prominent Ao entrepreneur Aolemba Longkumer by NSCN/GPRN (Khango-Hokato Vusshe).

AKM: Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) president Lanutoshi Aier and general secretary Satemmongba expressed deep concern and outrage on the statements issued by the NSCN/GPRN (Khango-Hokato Vusshe) in targeting Aolemba Longkumer, an entrepreneur and a bonafide member of the Ao community over the MSE-CDP scheme under the Ministry of MSME.

AKM maintained that while it fully supported transparency and accountability in public matters, it questioned the motive behind the faction singling out of Aolemba which raised concerns about potential bias towards an individual and a specific community.

AKM implied that such actions appear to be an intentional attempt to malign the reputation of an esteemed figure and create unwarranted unrest among the public. AKM also said it noted the faction’s pattern of behaviour that had become increasingly troubling, evolving into a nuisance for the Naga society and cautioned that this aspect bordered on organised extortion, posing a direct threat to Naga entrepreneurs and businessmen striving to uplift the region’s economy.

AKM said it would unequivocally not tolerate any group or faction threatening the citizens under any pretext. The signatories also declared that they stood firmly with Aolemba, described as a decorated entrepreneur and a beacon of inspiration for Naga youth. AKM also warmed that any further threat or harassment directed at him would be taken very seriously and addressed accordingly.

Further AKM also questioned the silence and inaction of the state government on this matter and reminded that the state government as a protector of the citizens, must take decisive and immediate steps to curb the increasing activities of factions and their unwarranted interference in public and private affairs.

AKM said if the elected government could not uphold the rule of law, then it forfeited its legitimacy to run the affairs of the state. The signatories demanded an assurance from the government to ensure the safety and dignity of individuals like Aolemba who contributed meaningfully to society, besides a strong and decisive action against groups and factions involved in intimidation, extortion, and harassment.

ASTC: Ao Senso Telongjem Chümoukedima has termed it as irrational, the imposition of Rs 50 lakh fine on Aolemba by NSCN/GPRN (Kango-HokatoVusshe), who was accused the former of not implementing the Common Facility Centre for Wooden Furniture Cluster at Tulovi as per DPR, a sanctioned project under the Ministry of Micro Small Medium Enterprises for Nagaland under Industry Department.

ASTC in a release issued by its president Dr Moa Walling and general secretary Lensanir Sanglir declared that the ASTC stood in strong support for their bonafide member.
ASTC said it also supports the clarification issued to the public by Aolemba chairman of SPV-CCDS, had clearly explained that his role was only to manage and supervise the day-to-day activities and maintenance of the CFC.

ASTC also pointed out that the implementing agency- Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC)- had also clarified to the public that the CFC for Wooden Furniture Cluster at Toluvi was progressing as per plan and would be completed as per schedule.
Hence, ASTC termed the accusation by NSCN (Khongo-Hokato Vusshe) against Aolemba for mismanaging the fund and delaying or sabotaging the progress of the ongoing project, as “immature on the part of national workers”.

ASTC further warned that in case any untoward incident happened to Aolemba and his family, it would hold the NSCN (Kango-Hokato Vusshe) solely responsible, and would leave no stone unturned to resolve the matter and to come to an amicable solution.
