State’s lone member of Rajya Sabha S Phangnon Konyak has been nominated to the Court of Nagaland University by Vice-President of India and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Expressing her gratitude, Phangnon in a statement through her press secretary, stated that she was immensely honoured by the nomination and assured that she would actively engage with the authorities of the university in reviewing its policies and programmes in accordance with the statutes outlined in the Nagaland University Act, 1989.
Nagaland University has played a vital role in nurturing distinguished alumni who have served and continue to serve the nation in various capacities as bureaucrats, elected representatives, professionals and thought leaders.
Recognising this legacy, Phangnon reaffirmed her commitment to work towards elevating the university’s stature through quality education, progressive policymaking and engagement with stakeholders.
She emphasised collective resolve to bring Nagaland University on a par with other premier institutions across the country.
