KASU demands proper implementation of MDM scheme

DIMAPUR: Khaghaboto Area Students Union (KASU) has raised concerns over irregularities in the implementation of the mid-day meal (MDM) scheme in government schools across its jurisdiction, which includes 17 villages.
In a press release, KASU emphasized that the mid-day meal programme was crucial in addressing student hunger and improving nutrition, especially for children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
The student body said it was unacceptable for such an important scheme to be poorly executed. KASU therefore urged strict and consistent implementation of the programme in all government schools under its jurisdiction and called on school authorities to prioritize the welfare of students. KASU warned that if negligence or non-compliance continues, it will take necessary steps to protect the interests of the students.
