Cultural display, exhibition of stalls mark R-Day celebration in Nagaland

The 76th Republic Day was celebrated across Nagaland with display of cultural dances and songs, exhibition of handicrafts and local products etc at the respective district headquarters.


MOKOKCHUNG: In Mokokchung, the national flag was unfurled by deputy chief minister, Y. Patton, who also delivered the Republic Day speech.


Altogether, nine contingents comprising of DEF Mokokchung, 2nd NAP, 13th IRB, Home Guards, Ex-Servicemen, NCC MGHSS, Bharat Scouts & Guides and Pipe Band (2nd NAP) took part in the march past with Assistant Commandant, 2nd NAP Battalion, Alichen, Medemkala Tzudir as the Parade Commander and ABI, DEF Mokokchung, K. Meren Jamir as second in-command.


District Administration and District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) Mission Shakti under the aegis of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, an initiative of the Ministry of Women & Child Development awarded commendation certificate to UBI Imlichila as BBBP Champion, Officer-in-Charge, Women Police Station, Mokokchung, for her commitment and dedicated services in promoting gender equality and ensuring the safety and dignity of women and girl child.


The certificate was handed over byY Patton. Other highlights of the programme included cultural presentation by Aosungkum Cultural Club, Mokokchung village and Longsalong Cultural Club, Mokokchung.


Patton also inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up by Agriculture department, SARS Yisemyong, ATMA, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services Department, Cooperation Department, Horticulture Department, District Rural Development Agency, Mokokchung District Legal Service Authority, Land Resources Department, District Industries Centre and Health & Family Welfare Department.


NIULAND: Deputy chief minister, T.R. Zeliang graced the celebration in Niuland as special guest. The event commenced with the unfurling of the national flag by T. R. Zeliang and inspection of the parade contingents. Highlights of the day include presentation of District Awards, recognizing individuals and organizations for their exemplary contributions to the district.

A special performance was presented by Kupuka Chishi, TaFMA Ambassador for Niuland district, a cultural folk song was presented by the women of Niuland town, while men from Tokishe village showcased a traditional folk dance, reflecting the region’s rich cultural heritage.


The event also featured the inauguration of exhibition stalls by Deputy Chief Minister, T. R. Zeliang.


WOKHA: Minister of Roads and Bridges, G. Kaito Aye, graced the Republic Day celebrated at Local Ground, Wokha as special guest. He unfurled the national flag, took the rashtriya salute and inspected the parade contingents from seven contingents.
Kaito also inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up by various government departments and self-help groups from the district.


PEREN: Minister of Public Health and Engineering, N. Jacob Zhimomi unfurled the national flag at Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, Peren. He also took rashtriya salute from the parade contingents.


Vibrant display of cultural presentation by Rongmei Cultural Troupe, Drum Ensemble by PM Shri Government High School, DC Colony Peren and a special presentation by Pauramdibe Mpom and Kenlumyile Ngia marked the highlights of the celebration.
The special guest also inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up by various Agri & Allied Departments and Self Help Groups.


To mark the celebration, visitation of Sub-Jail, Peren and District Hospital, Peren was carried out by Peren Town Council and ZOAN respectively, while Children Home, Peren was visited by IRCS & DHEW, Peren. In Jalukie town, ADC, Jalukie, T. L. Kiusumong Tikhir unfurled the national flag and delivered the Republic Day speech.


TUENSANG: Minister of Women Resource Development and Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse graced the Republic Day celebration at Parade Ground, Tuensang as special guest.
Salhoutuonuo unfurled the national flag and took the rashtriya salute from eight parade contingents and delivered the Republic Day speech.


Other highlights of the day were special presentation by Tuensang District Taekwondo Association, Dog Show by the 29 Assam Rifles Tuensang, and cultural presentation by Changen Cultural Club, Sangli Cultural Troupe, Khiamniungan Cultural Club, Kemifu Club and Tikhir Liujong Pia Lui Dancing Troupe.


Salhoutuonuo also inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up by ATMA, Horticulture Department, Soil & Water Conservation Department, Agriculture Department, KVV, Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Department, NSRLM, Land Resources Department, Industries & Commerce Department, District Legal Services and Co-operative Bank Tuensang. The function was also attended by Imtichoba Chang, MLA, head of Offices under Tuensang district, police personnel, students and public from Tuensang town.


CHUMOUKEDIMA: Minister of Higher Education and Tourism, Temjen Imna Along unfurled the national flag at Chumoukedima and inspected the parade parade contingents.
To mark the day, cultural presentation of folk dance and songs were presented by Kuki Cultural Troupe, Kachari Cultural Troupe, Lotha Cultural Troupe, Sumi Cultural Troupe, Chakhesang Cultural Troupe, Gorkha Cultural Troupe and Sangtam Cultural Troupe. Special presentations were also presented by Hebron Higher Secondary School, Sovima, followed by inauguration of exhibition stalls by Minister Temjen Imna Along. The day ended with beating of retreat by 22 AR, Medziphema.


TSEMINYU: The Republic Day was celebrated at RSA Ground, Tseminyu with minister of Housing and Mechanical Engineering, P. Bashangmongba Chang as special guest.
Bashangmongba unfurled the national flag and took the rashtriya salute from the parade contingents.


Other highlights of the day included cultural item presented by Terogvunyu Chupwe Tseminyu area. The District Administration and District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) Tseminyu under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao felicitated Amina Yesmen of DBS Tseminyu for her outstanding achievement in securing the Top 15 position during HSLC Examination 2024.


Bashangmongba also inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up by various departments under Tseminyu district. This was followed by the beating of retreat by 4th NAP (B Coy), Tseminyu.


MON: Advisor of Law & Justice, Land Revenue, T. N. Mannen graced the Republic Day celebration 2025 at Mon local ground as special guest. Mannen unfurled the national flag and inspected the parade contingents.


Mannen also inaugurated the stalls set up by different departments and societies.
On the occasion, Inter-ward Mon Town Best Christmas Decoration 2024 was awarded to Shantham ward, while Thamnan ward and Wagim Ward bagged the second and third positions respectively.


Highlights of the programme included cultural dance by Chen Area Nokten Union Mon Town and Shamnyu Ward, and Patriotic Songs by Samuel Konyak.


ZUNHEBOTO: Advisor of Industries & Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu graced the celebration at local ground, Zunheboto as special guest.


Hekani unfurled the national flag and took rastriya salute from the eight contingents.
The highlights of the programme included a special number by Kihikali H. Zhimo, a folk song by the Department of Art & Culture, and an exhibition football match between DPDB XI and NGOs XI.


KIPHIRE: Advisor of Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan graced the Republic Day celebration at local ground, Kiphire as special guest.
Yanthan unfurled the national flag, read out the Republic Day speech and took the rashtriya salute from six contingents.


He also inaugurated and inspected the exhibition stalls set up by various government agencies and Self-Help-Groups (SHG).


Other highlights of the programme were presentation of ‘Vande Mataram’ by Ase Jasmine, and ‘India Waale’ by Alvin Mongzar. Folk songs were presented by Sumi Totimi Kiphire, Tikhir Women Union Kiphire Town and a folk dance was presented by Kiphire Village Khudi Nyuchiru Mulung.


LONGLENG: In Longleng, advisor of Tribal Affairs and Election, H. Tovihoto Ayemi graced the celebration as special guest at the public playground.
He unfurled the national flag and inspected the ceremonial parade contingents, and delivered the Republic Day speech. The special guest also inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up by various departments.


PHEK: Advisor of Transport and Technical Education, Temjenmenba graced the occasion of the Republic Day held at Local Ground, Phek Headquarter, as special guest.
Temjenmenba unfurled the national flag and delivered the Republic Day speech. He also inspected the parade contingents and also took the rashtriya salute from five parade contingents.


The special guest also inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up by various departments.
Highlights of the celebration programme were indigenous tune presented by Vesulu Tetseo & Shezovolu Chizo, felicitation of women and girls local champions in different disciplines by the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) Phek, special performance by Kukhruno Khamo, and a cultural dance by Bible Hill Ward.
Government officials, NGO leaders, public and students attended the celebration programme.


SHAMATOR: The Republic Day was celebrated at Public Ground, Shamator on with advisor, Minority Affairs and Sericulture, Imkongmar as special guest.
The special guest unfurled the national flag, took rashtriya salute from six parade contingents and delivered the Republic Day speech.


Taekwondo demonstration by Shamator District Taekwondo Association, cultural presentation by Mongtsüwong Cultural Troupe, Shamator town, Thopün Cultural Troupe, Shamator town, and Shamator Village Cultural Troupe were the highlights of the celebration. Imkongmar also inaugurated the exhibition stalls which were set up by various departments.


MELURI: Advisor, New & Renewable Energy and Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthem, graced the Republic Day celebration at public ground, Meluri as special guest.
Nyuthe unfurled the national flag and took the rashtriya salute from the parade contingents.


He also visited the various exhibition stalls displayed by Agriculture Department, Horticulture Department, BDO of Meluri and Wazeho block and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services Department. The highlights of the day include cultural dance by male and female cultural troupes of Meluri Area Public Organisation.


NOKLAK: Advisor of Treasuries & Accounts and Art & Culture, K. Konngam Konyak unfurled the national flag at Public Ground, Noklak Hq. He also took the rashtriya salute from nine parade contingents and also gave away the prizes to the meritorious girl students of HSLC & HSSLC Examinations 2023 and 2024 under Noklak district, in commemoration of 10 years of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP).


He also inaugurated the exhibition stalls which were set up by various government departments, Noklak District Handloom & Handicrafts Council and Self Help Groups.
To mark the occasion, the district administration along with Heads of Offices and Red Cross Society Noklak Branch visited District Hospital, Noklak.


PUNGRO: Pungro celebrated the Republic Day at the Public Ground, where, S. Kiusumew Yimchunger, advisor, Fire & Emergency Services, Home Guards & Civil Defence, Relief & Rehabilitation unfurled the national flag and inspected the parade contingents.
The chief guest also took the rashtriya salute from the parade contingents.


He also inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up by department of Agriculture and Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission under Rural Development, Khongsa block and Pungro block. Martial Arts was demonstrated by Taewondo Association Pungro and Open Penalty Shootout Tournament was organised by Loyinlo FC Pungro.


CHOZUBA: The Republic Day was celebrated at Chozuba with ADC, Chozuba, Dr. Diana Patton as special guest at GA Rest House, Chozuba, Phek.
The special guest unfurled the national flag, took rashtriya salute and delivered the Republic Day speech. Government officials, students and the public of Chozuba Sub-division attended the programme.


PFUTSERO: The day was observed at ADC’s Office, Pfutsero under Phek district with ADC, Pfutsero, Mhalo Humtsoe as the special guest.
Mhalo unfurled the national flag, took rashtriya salute and read out the Republic Day message. The programme was attended by the Government officials and public leaders.


NOKSEN: At Noksen, the Republic Day was observed with SDO (C) Noksen, C. Phuniang as special guest. The special guest hoisted the national flag and took rashtriya salute from the contingents consisting of students of Government High School Noksen and 3rd NAP alpha company.


AGHUNATO: Aghunato headquarter celebrated the Republic Day celebration at ADC’s Office with ADC, Ahgunato, D. Robin as special guest.
The special guest unfurled the national flag, received rashtriya salute from 8th NAP Naltoga. He also read out the Republic Day message. National anthem was sung by the students of DBS Aghunato.


TIZIT: The Republic Day was celebrated at ADC’s Office Complex, Tizit with ADC, Tizit, Zhoi Lohe as special guest. The ADC unfurled the national flag and took rashtriya salute from 6th NAP, Tizit and delivered the Republic Day speech. The National Anthem was sung by M. Jon School, Tizit and a special number by Manlih Konyak. The day was also marked by hoisting of the national flag in all the government offices, educational and private institutions.


ATOIZU: The Republic Day was celebrated at the office compound of the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Atoizu, Zunheboto with Chief Guest, ADC, Atoizu, Nukutulu S. Venuh, NCS.


Nukutulu S. Venuh unfurled the national flag, followed by the rashtriya salute and the national anthem sung by St Peter’s School, Atoizu. Highlights of the programme include the Republic Day speech by the ADC, Atoizu and a special performance by Khelhoshe Polytechnic, Atoizu.


SEYOCHUNG: The Republic Day was celebrated at the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) HQ. Office Complex, Seyochung, Kiphire on with ADC, Seyochung, Imsenperong as special guest.


Imsenperong unfurled the national flag, delivered the Republic Day speech and took the rashtriya salute from VG HQ led by Havildar Sepong Sangtam. The national anthem was sung by St. Mary’s High School, Seyochung town.


BHANDARI: Bhandari Sub-division, Wokha district celebrated the Republic Day at the Public Sports Ground with ADC Bhandari, Longasen Lotha as special guest.
Parade contingents, namely 7th NAP Battalion, Government Higher Secondary School Bhandari, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Bhandari, and 7th NAP Unit School were led by ABSI, 7th NAP, Bhandari, Rongsen Sowa.


WAKCHING: The Republic Day was observed at Wakching, Mon with SDO(C), Wakching, S. Longnyei Konyak unfurling the national flag and taking the rashtriya salute from Nagaland Police. The programme was attended by Government employees, Dobashis, Gaonburas and the general public.


TENING: The Republic Day was celebrated at Local Ground, Tening town, Peren with ADC, Tening, K. Furhesie Nyuwi as the special guest. The special guest unfurled the national flag and took the rashtriya salute from the parade contingents, namely Heraka School (male and female contingents) and Baptist High School Tening, and delivered the Republic Day speech.


Other highlights of the day include presentation of the national anthem by Government Higher Secondary School, Tening and an exhibition football match.


MANGKOLEMBA: Mangkolemba Sub-division, Mokokchung celebrated the Republic Day at the Public Ground. ADC Moakumzuk Tzudir unfurled the national flag, took the rashtriya salute, and delivered the Republic Day address.


The march past was led by the 2nd NAP ‘E’ Company, with participation from Government Higher Secondary School, Mangkolemba, and Baptist Higher Secondary School, Mangkolemba, as part of the parade contingent.


Exhibition stalls were set up, showcasing local products by the Departments of Agriculture, Horticulture, Rural Development, Industries & Commerce Department, NSRLM Self Help Groups.


ABOI: The Republic Day was celebrated at local ground, Aboi, Mon with ADC, Phuleshe K Yepthomi, as chief guest. The chief guest unfurled the national flag and delivered the Republic Day speech, and took salute from the parade contingents.


Later, the chief guest inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up by various departments. The programme culminated with the beating of the retreat by the Aboi Police Band.
