In a major relief to the commuters, the refurbished Road Over Bridge (RoB) near Dimapur District Sports Council (DDSC) complex here is set to be thrown open for traffic starting February 2, 2025. ROB was closed to all vehicular traffic starting October 1, 2024 to facilitate rehabilitation work.

Initially planned for completion in six months, the project timeline was expedited to just four months following administrative directives. According to the contractor, the blacktopping of the entire bridge would be completed by Saturday, but would be left to cool for a day before being opened for traffic on Sunday.

The repair works, undertaken by Public Works Department (PWD) National Highway Division, is being executed by Innovative Construction, at an estimated cost of Rs 2.68 crore.

Once operational, the repaired ROB is expected to significantly improve connectivity and address long-standing traffic congestion issue in the entire city.
