Maple Tree organises ‘7th Graduation lunch’

Maple Tree School held its 7th Annual Graduation lunch for the class of 2025, “Kairosis224” on February 1 at outdoor Performance Arena, Maple Tree School. Gracing the event as guest speaker, Dr. Pritpal Kaur, IPS, reflected on a question from her teacher that shaped her, “What name do you want to make for yourself?”


She reminded the audience that the power to shape one’s identity lies in their own hands, though teachers play a crucial role in shaping and guiding students. Dr. Kaur highlighted the transition from childhood to adulthood, encouraging the graduates to embrace the challenges ahead, mentioning that it was just the beginning.


She also stressed on the importance of having dreams with purpose and urged the audience to remember that there was a difference between education and literacy, noting that everyone are all literates but education comes with a purpose.


She also advised the graduates to not lose touch with their roots in the pursuit of modernization, emphasizing that the person who remains connected to their traditions will never lose their way. Dr. Kaur further shared her admiration for the rich history of the Naga tribes, particularly their self-sufficiency and resilience.


She highlighted the importance of unity and teamwork and urged the graduates to stick together and support each other during challenging times.
In her closing remarks, she made a comparison to the maple tree, which gives selflessly and encouraged the graduates to embody the spirit of the maple tree, urging them to give back to society without expecting anything in return.


Earlier in the program, students from the Graduating Class of Grade 12 performed a song, followed by brief speeches from Deputy Head Boy Ajulong, Head Boy Nokmeren, and Head Girl Lipoktila. Katila Aier, representing the parents, also addressed the gathering with a short speech. The event concluded with the distribution of mementos, the school song, and a closing prayer by associate pastor, DABA, Rev. Dr. L. Lima Jamir.
