Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement ‘Leaders Meet’ 2025 concludes

Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM), organized a three-day Leaders Meet 2025 for the youth leaders of the parishes/centres and affiliated tribal units on the theme, “Meet, Greet and Inspire: A Leadership Gathering” from January 31 to 2 at Mt. Tabor Retreat House, Kohima.


During the event, renowned resource persons enlightened the youth leaders on Catholic Faith, rich history and traditions, essence of leadership and navigating life as a Catholic youth, overview of NCYM and the role of its affiliated units. The participants were enriched through inspiring life testimonials on the subject.


In addition to the informative and stimulating sessions, group discussions and presentations were carried out by the participants on the challenges faced by the youths in the parishes/centres and pathways to overcome adversities.


During the NCYM leaders meet, the Central Executive Committee had discussions and discernment on the pertinent issues related to the youth body in Diocese and Parish/Centre. Furthermore, the activities report carried out in their respective parishes/centres/tribal units were presented by 28 parishes/centres and two tribal units: Zeliangrong Catholic Youth Association Nagaland and Lotha Catholic Youth Association.


The main celebrants of the NCYM Leaders Meet were Rev. Fr. Dr. Jacob Charalel, Chancellor, Diocese of Kohima and Rev. Fr. Gwatilo Alex Tep, Bishop’s secretary. The prominent resource persons were: Director NCYM, Rev. Fr. Kokto Kurian; Secretary-General CAN, Teisovi Gerard Meyase; Treasurer NDPP, Dr. John Murry; Advisor to CAN, Jonas Yanthan; president Angami Catholic Union, Dr. John Seyiekhrietuo; Former president NCWA, Hetoli Marina; CMC Asst. Prof. SJC Autonomous, Rev. Sr. Dr. K. Katini; and former spokesperson NCYM, Zhovi Peter Dukru.


The NCYM Leaders Meet 2025 was attended by 63 Parish/Church youth leaders and three tribal units viz. Zeliangrong Catholic Youth Association Nagaland, Lotha Catholic Youth Association and Angami Catholic Youth Association.
