SLC examine technical education in Nagaland

The members of State Level Committee (SLC) at its 4th meeting, examined in detail the intrinsic factors determining the landscape of Technical Education in the state. A DIPR report informed that the meeting was held on January 30, 2025 at the Conference Hall of the directorate of Technical Education, Kohima.


SLC is an executive body of the State Council for Technical Education (SCTE). The committee also reviewed the new curriculum designed which was in line with NEP 2020, its implications and preparedness of implementing; NBA accreditation of all the Polytechnics in Nagaland; need of Degree Engineering College in the state and catering Internship opportunities for students.


The meeting was convened by commissioner & secretary, Higher & Technical Education and chairman of SLC, Rajesh Soundararajan. The meeting was attended by members: Er. Vipulhou Lhoungu, director-Technical Education; Dr. Urmila Kar, Professor Education & Mgt, NITTTR Kolkata; Dr. Sujata Dash, Dean & Professor of IT,SET(NU); Ar. V. Neilazo Metha, Chief Architect PWD (P&D); Dr. Nzanthung Ngullie, Assistant Professor & Associate Dean NIT-Nagaland; Dr. Lithungo K Murry, Assistant Professor & Associate Dean NIT-Nagaland; Tiakaba Amer, Additional Director Technical Education; Er. David Tsela, Joint Director – Technical Education and Er. Sorenthung Ezung, OSD-Technical Education. The meeting concluded with vote of thanks from member secretary, Er. Khrieketoulie Rupreo, COE-TE.
