A district level training on Population, based Non Communicable Diseases (NCD) screening, was held at Conference Hall, CHC Jalukie, on February 6.
A press release by District Media Officer, CMO Office, Peren, Shekho Sophie, informed that SPO, NPCDCS, Dr. Alemwapang, delivered a brief introduction on non-communicable diseases programme, where he informed that death due to NCD in India was around 63 % as per World Health Organization report (2018).
He also shared on foundation of NP-NCD- PBS (CBAC), NCD- App/portal continuum of care, PBS strategy, and elaborated on population based screening, a new initiative under NPCDCS, aimed at screening beneficiaries in the community who are 30 years or above for hypertension, diabetes, oral cancer, breast cancer and cervix cancer.
Participants were trained on community based assessment checklist format and registration in the family folder and use of NCD App, while state NCD team also gave hands on training on NCD portal mapping and issues discourse and action entry to the participants.
DPO (NCD), Dr. Viholi, delivering the welcome address, said that the training was held under the aegis of National Programme for Prevention and Control of Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke (NPCDCS).
