Power department has informed that “220 kV S/C New Kohima-Mokokchung Transmission Line” passing through several towns and villages would be test charged at the rated voltage at 11am on February 12, 2025 and remain charged thereafter.
The villages and towns through which the transmission line passes include Zhadima, Teichuma, Botsa, Tsiemekhuma, Tseminyu, Nsunyu, Tesophenyu, Ehunnu, Terogunyu, Tsaphimi, Kitami, Settsu, Alichen, Longkhum, Ungma, Sastami, Ajiqami, VK Town, Maromi, Phisami, Izheto, Mukami, Philimi and Shena Old.
In a press release, transmission division Kohima, executive engineer Namheu Khate Zeliang has, therefore, informed all the public to neither touch the transmission line nor go near it for safety purposes.
The department cautioned that anybody doing so would be doing at their own risk and the department would not be held responsible for any untoward incident whatsoever. The department said the exercise has the approval and clearance of the Chief Electrical Inspector Nagaland.
