ANEFWA serves 30-day ultimatum on Department of Power

All Nagaland Electricity Field Workers’ Association (ANEFWA) has served an ultimatum on the Department of Power to address its ten-point demand within 30 days.

In an ultimatum addressed to the engineer-in-chief, department of power, the ANEFWA president Vethinu Kezo, general secretary Vimesa Kera, vice president-1 Bokaho Sema, vice president-2 Wenlao Konyak, assistant general secretary Limatoshi Pongen, finance secretary Yapielie Chakrunuo, action committee chairman Ghonito Chishi and treasurer K Dominic asserted that the association had submitted several representations to the department regarding the pressing issues faced by the members.

However, the association termed as “unfortunate” that despite its repeated requests, the issues remained unaddressed, causing immense hardship to the members.

Therefore, ANEFWA stated that an executive meeting was convened on February 7, 2025 to deliberate on the unresolved concerns with the endorsement of the general body of the association. After thorough discussions, ANEFWA said the meet unanimously resolved to submit ultimatum on the department to immediately to address the following:

* To finalize the pending regularization of O&MS Jugali (E)
* To finalize the pending promotion of all cadres by filling up the vacancies through promotions without further delay;
* To finalize the pending post creation of 849 posts proposed on account of acute shortage of O&M (Operation & Maintenance) staff.
* To finalize the pending Draft Sub-Ordinate Service Rules.
* To revive and reinstate the payment of Risk Allowance to worked-charged employees.
* To pay the one time unpaid Uniform Allowance.
* To provide requisite Pool Vehicles in all the Districts.
* To provide Safety Tool Kits for O&M staff.
* To provide Rest House for O&M staff.
* To consider posthumous regularization and payment of ex-gratia to all worked-charged employee who died while performing bonafide government duty. Failure to address the issues positively within a period of 30 days, the association cautioned that it would be compelled to stage phase-wise agitation democratically any time after the expiry of the ultimatum.
