The inter-departmental coordination meeting for national rabies control program was held in Kiphire between the chief medical office and chief veterinary office on February 21.
At the meeting, Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr. Tsilise, highlighted the status of dog vaccination in the district. He mentioned that the dog population as of 2024 covered 6331 in Kiphire district and the number of dogs vaccinated was 843.
Stressing on the importance of awareness programme to increase community involvement in reporting dog bite cases, the medical superintendent officer, Dr. C.Wathsuho Nyu, entrusted the members to enhance the awareness program at the sub-centre level. Dr. Dheni District Epidimologist reviewed the 2024-25 report.
