East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) has ordered that all sand transported within its jurisdiction must be fully covered during transit.
In a press release, EDTC stated that the regulation was being issued to prevent environmental pollution and safeguard public health. The council cautioned that non-compliance would result in penal action under the relevant provisions of the Town Council Act.
Regulation on poultry import: EDTC has notified that only live chickens would be permitted for import into the its jurisdiction from neighbouring states.
The council stated that no dressed chickens would be permitted within the jurisdiction under any circumstances. EDTC warned that any individual or entity found violating its directive would be booked and penalized as per the provisions of the Town Council Act.
Further, the council has directed the general public, transporters, traders, and all concerned stakeholders to comply with its regulations. EDTC informed that strict enforcement measures would be undertaken, adding that no exemptions would be made for violators.
