Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) has notified packaged drinking water plants, compostable plastic carry bags manufacturers, importer of all imported plastic packaging and/or plastic packaging of imported products, brand owners and plastic waste processing units operating in Nagaland to apply for registration in the Centralized EPR Portal developed by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
In a notice, Nagaland Pollution Control Board Member Secretary K. Hukato Chishi informed that portal can be accessed through Central Pollution Control Board website cpcb.nic.in (go to Important Links: Registration of PIBOs and PWPs under PWM Rules).
As per provision 18 notified through Amendments to Plastic Waste Management Rules dated July 06, 2022, “The Environmental Compensation shall be levied based upon polluter pays principle, on persons who are not complying with the provisions of these rules, as per guidelines notified by the Central Pollution Control Board.” For further information related to registration on EPR Portal, one could contact 7005239265/ 8732050834.
