Nagaland Private Doctors Association (NPDA) has threatened to terminate contract with the government and discontinue the Ayushman/CMHIS services if the matter was not resolved promptly.
In a press release, NPDA president Dr. Lima Imchen and general secretary Dr. Mhasiseno Belho, stated that despite Nagaland Health Protection Society (NHPS) assurances to resolve the matter by February 28, 2025, no substantial payments have been made. At the meeting held on February 19, 2025 between the NPDA and NHPS, the signatories said commitments were made to address the issue.
“We feel deeply betrayed and disrespected, as our continued cooperation during this challenging time has been met with inaction. It is unacceptable that we are being taken advantage of, and we can no longer tolerate this situation,” the signatories said.
After careful consideration and prayer, NPDA said they have decided to escalate this issue to the court in pursuit of justice.
NPDA said private stakeholders were not obligated to the government, but they acted in good faith out of a sense of duty to the people.
The association emphasized that the NHPS/FGI should not exploit the interim order of the Court, as the Court’s duty was to uphold justice and will duly consider its legitimate grievances. Affirming its commitment to fairness and justice, the NPDA urged all responsible authorities to act with the urgency and integrity that this matter demands.
