The sixth session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) commenced on Monday in the Assembly Hall with the Governor’s address.
State chief minister Neiphiu Rio made obituary reference to former prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, who passed away on December 26, 2024, at the age of 92 in Delhi.
NLA speaker Sharingain Longkumer made obituary references to former members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, including former minister T.A. Ngullie, who passed away on October 27, 2024, at the age of 90 in Chümoukedima; former minister K. Zungkum, who passed away on December 6, 2024, at the age of 92 in Dimapur; Bendangangshi Ao, a two-time MLA, who passed away on December 27, 2024, at Ungma village; former minister Mavil Khieya, who passed away on January 18, 2025, in Kohima; and former minister Kejong Chang, who passed away on February 20, 2025, at the age of 102 in Dimapur.
Meanwhile, moving the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address, advisor Imkong L. Imchen, said that the members of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly assembled in the Sixth Session were deeply grateful to the Governor for his address delivered to the House on March 3, 2025. The motion was seconded by Nuklutoshi, MLA, and Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe, MLA.
