A jungle fire broke out near Pungro Road, 10 km away from Kiphire Town on March 2, 2025. According to the fire department Kiphire, two fire tenders from Kiphire along with manpower rushed to the scene and took four hour to bring the fire under control.
A DIPR report informed that timely response and coordination with Longthonger village and fire station Kiphire helped to minimize the damage caused by the fire and averted a potential disaster in the region.
