ATM robbery case: Dimapur CSOs laud police

Dimapur-based civil society organisations (CSOs) have lauded the Dimapur police for arresting five accused, who were allegedly involved in the robbery of ATM at Kuda Village, Nagarjan Dimapur on February 20, 2025.


In a joint statement, Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) president Etsungmomo Kikon, general secretary LK Peter Anal, Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) president Hinoto P Aomi, Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD)president Duoneinuo Kire, GB Union (Sadar) Dimapur president W Kholie Kapfo and Dimapur Urban Colony Chairmen’s Federation (DUCCF) president Zasivikho Zakiesatuo appreciated the “exceptional efficiency” of police personnel under the command of Commissioner of Police Dimapur Kevithuto Sophie and Additional Commissioner of Police Dimapur Imkongsangba for arresting five “highly proficient looters” within 20 days.


The civil society organisations said the arrest of such criminals were almost next to impossible because they were highly professionals and “well organized national level underworld robbery activities” with sophisticated robbery equipment.


However, they said Dimapur police officers and personnel, using their “brainy intelligence, active smartness and accurate zeroing down” arrested the accused involved in a record time. They said Dimapur police’ “excellent commendable job” was deemed fit to receive appreciation and recognition from all sections including the government and citizens of Dimapur.


Further, CSOs acknowledged and commended the Dimapur police for their “exceptional unparallel achievement” in Northeastern states. Theys aid tireless efforts of Dimapur police have successfully maintained law and order in Dimapur, meeting the aspirations of the people.


civil society organisations have urged the government to recognize and promote such dedicated and sincere efforts from all concerned and authorities, ensuring lasting peace and harmony in the region.


Meanwhile, the CSOs warned Dimapur citizens and public “to be always aware of outside notorious criminals,” particularly non-Nagas, often have free entry into Dimapur with evil intentions of carrying out ill-plans in the society of simple and good hearted Nagas.
