DUCCF agrees to DMC sanitation fee with riders

Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF) on Thursday said it had agreed to the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC)’s enhancement of residential sanitation fee (RSF) of Rs 80 on certain conditions.

In a letter to the DMC chairman, DUCCF president Zasivikho Zakiesato and assistant general secretary Bokato Wotsa said the federation at an executive meeting on February 28, 2025 decided agree to the request of DMC, but appealed to the DMC to look into unavoidable issues/conditions for better growth and development for the sanitation department.

The conditions include door-to-door collection, setting up waste processing units, installation of waste bins in all market areas, public places, and residential localities to prevent littering, strict ban on open dumping, street cleaning and drainage maintenance, transparent utilization of funds, penalty for non-compliance, waste management awareness campaigns, take leachate and pollution control measures and adopt modern waste management technologies.

DUCCF expressed confidence that DMC would continue to work with dedication for the upliftment and growth of the town.
