SCERT conducts workshop on NSQAAF and SSSA

The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) conducted a two-day workshop on development of National School Quality Assessment and Accreditation Framework (NSQAAF) and the State School Standard Authority (SSSA) at the SIEMAT hall on March 19.

Delivering a brief address, Additional Director of SCERT, T. Lima Longkumer, highlighted that this was the second workshop involving stakeholders, with several new members joining the process.

He emphasized that the participants, drawn from SCERT, DIETs, the Department of School Education (DOSE), Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), Samagra Shiksha, NECTAR, ANPSA, and ANSTA, were “the chosen ones” whose inputs and suggestions would help shape the future of education in Nagaland.

Under NEP 2020, SQAAF serves as a guiding tool to evaluate and accredit private and government schools at all educational stages, ensuring adherence to quality standards. As outlined in Paragraph 8.1 of NEP 2020, the framework aims to empower schools and teachers to strive for excellence, maintain transparency, and uphold accountability through the public disclosure of educational outcomes and financial transactions.

Longkumer stated that Nagaland’s School Quality Assessment and Assurance Framework would not merely serve as a guiding document but as a transformative tool to redefine approaches to quality and excellence in schools.

He further affirmed that SCERT, as the leader in academic matters and curriculum standards in the state, would develop the SQAAF through extensive consultations with stakeholders, aligning with Paragraph 8.4 of NEP 2020.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Joint Director and Convenor of NSQAAF and SSSA, Moalong Imty, while Senior Lecturer from DIET Mon, James Sema, presented an overview of NSQAAF.
