On the occasion of World Meteorological Day, Department of Soil & Water Conservation released the updated version of “Meteorological Report of Nagaland 2024”.
A press release by the department informed the report was released by director, Soil & Water Conservation, L.Chubaonen, at Directorate of Soil and Water Conservation, on March 21.
The comprehensive report offers an in depth analysis of State’s weather patterns, rainfall distribution, temperature trends, and other key climatic data recorded throughout the year.
The updated report aligns with World Meteorological Day 2025 theme, “Closing the Early Warning Gap Together”, which theme highlights the crucial need for enhanced collaboration in strengthening early warning systems to mitigate impacts of extreme weather events, which have become an increasing concern worldwide.
The report was a vital step in the Department’s ongoing efforts to promote climate resilience, which provides foundation for data driven policies and preparedness strategies that aim to improve state’s response to climate-related challenges, and underscores importance of building stronger partnerships between government agencies, scientific organizations and local communities to bridge the early warning gap and improve disaster preparedness, the release added.
