One-day Block level community mobilization programme for SMDC/SMC Urban Block was held at Kuda youth hall, on March 24. Delivering keynote address, additional director department of School Education, Erali Swu informed that the first phase of the program—held from March 17 to 21, 2025—has made significant progress across various districts.
In the second phase from March 24 to 28, 2025, all five blocks will be covered, Erali said.
Key highlights from her address included empowering communities, improving infrastructure and enrolment: citing success stories from districts like Phek—where local communities have contributed in building teacher quarters and enhancing school infrastructure.
She underlined how robust community support can boost student enrolment and academic excellence in government schools. She informed that beginning from Class 9, the program will integrate vocational training, preparing students for practical careers.
She also mentioned on continuous teacher training programs, the PM Poshan mid-day meal scheme for child nutrition, and the ULAS program aimed at educating dropouts above 15 years of age.
Highlights of the training programme included presentation of Samagra: all components under Samagra, “Roles and responsibilities of SMDC/SMC”, P3 feedback and interaction.
The programme was chaired by UBRC Kuda coordinator Aseno Yanthan and vote of thanks by senior SDEO Dimapur Jevika Kiba.
