Dimapur police have arrested four persons on charges of abducting two individuals from Pherima on March 23, 2025.
In a press note, the commissioner of police Dimapur stated that on March 23, 2025 at around 1:30am two persons identified as one Imran Hussain and Jahirul along with vehicle (Eicher) B/Regd No. AS01BC/6016 loaded with ginger was proceeding towards Assam from Manipur was abducted/kidnapped from Pherima, near Raju Dabu Hotel and fled towards Dimapur side.
Thereafter, police said the whereabouts of two persons and vehicle were not known.
However, police said that the miscreants later on demanded an amount of Rs. 8-10 lakhs for the release two abducted persons and the vehicle. Police said the miscreants warned that the two persons would be killed if amount was not paid.
Accordingly, Dimapur police swung into action and arrested four persons and rescued the abducted drivers and vehicle.
Police have informed that the arrested individuals have been identified as SS Leacy NSCN (Nikki) Kiyeto Achumi (58), s/o Lt. Kikhehe Achumi, Tichipami village, PS Suruhuto Zunheboto district, P/A Purana Bazar “B” Dimapur; SS Rajapeyu NSCN(Nikki) Aluvi Chophy (43), s/o. Lt. Hoishe, Tichipami village, PS Suruhuto, P/APurana Bazar”B” Dimapur; SS Leacy NSCN(Nikki) Hushika Kiba (30), s/o. Tokivi Kiba, Zhekishi village, P/S Niuland, present address Purana Bazar “B” Sukhato Colony Dimapur and SS “Segt Major” NSCN (Nikki) Emugha Achumi (27), s/o. Sukhato Achumi, Awotsakili village, P/S Atoizu, Zunheboto district, present address Ekranipathar Dimapur. In this connection, police said a case has been registered with Medziphema police station.
