NCD screening in Wokha

Medical department of Wokha conducted a special NCD screening drive on March 30, 2025, at Saint Paul Catholic Church, Ao Baptist Church, Tenyimia Baptist Church, Sumi Baptist Church, Tiyichan Baptist Church, and Samyan Baptist Church in Wokha.


The screening campaign was conducted through a directive from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, with an aim to achieve 100% screening for hypertension and diabetes in individuals aged 30 and above, and to reduce the burden of non-communicable diseases.


Medical staff under the CMO, staff of Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital Wokha, and DMMDH, Medical Superintendent, Dr. N. Mhonchan Kithan participated in the campaign.
Around 600 individuals were screened and treated.

NCD Wokha, District Programme Officer, Dr. Aseno Rhetso thanked the Parish Priest of Saint Paul Catholic Church Wokha, Reverends, Pastors, Women Leaders, Youth Director, CNY Director, and church officials from various churches for their participation in the screening campaign.
