NCSU calls for implementation of reclamation machine

The Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) has called for implementation of 100% reclamation machine for PMGSY-III as per detailed project report (DPR).

In a representation to the chief secretary, NCSU president Pele Khezhie and general secretary John Kath claimed that during the inspection for work progress on PMGSY, they found that out of 40 projects only one reclamation machine was installed at Rusoma village site, whereas the NPWD while tendering process opted for 100% using of reclamation machine.

Seeking early completion of PMGSY-III, they said the work order had been awarded to a contractor on March 21, 2024. However, they lamented that even after 12 months there was only 5-10% physical progress of the project.

They demanded early completion of the project, while maintaining quality workmanship with 100% reclamation machine. They declared that the union wound not compromise with any change of modalities at any stage.

They insisted that any lapse of terms and conditions as per guideline should not be allowed, warning that the department concerned and the firm would be held responsible in case of any lapse.
