Ban on smoking in public places

As per the unanimous resolution adopted during third and fourth quarterly district level coordination committee (NTCP) review meeting, the deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur has strictly prohibited smoking in any form in all public areas including bus station, train station, airport, taxi stands, public waiting areas, markets, meeting hall, hospital and all government offices and any other shared spaces.
In a press release, DC Dimapur Dr.Tinojongshi Chang reminded the public to strictly adhere to the prohibition, failing which legal and disciplinary action would be taken.
DC stated that the order has been issued with the intent to promote a healthy and tobacco-free environment in the community.
