All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has appealed director general of police (DGP) to investigate the recent allegation of sexual harassment of female employees against Reny Wilfred IAS, then joint secretary Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN).
In a representation to the DGP, ANCSU president Tenyesinlo Bukh and general secretary Kivinoka A Sema placed on record the fact that Reny Wilfred, had earlier been booked for sexual offence involving two minor girls while serving as the first Deputy Commissioner of Noklak district during 2020-21.
ANSCU said this clearly proved that Wilfred is a repeat sex offender. ANCSU said despite the charge and the mental trauma inflicted on the victims, it was a matter of concern that the case against Wilfred remains unresolved.
The signatories said the “undesirable behavior and attitude” of Wilfred is a threat on civilized society and stood in stark contrast to the value of safety and respect for women and children.
ANCSU therefore, strongly urged upon the DGP to promptly investigate the serious case without further delay and act as per the sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Wilfred. Further, ANCU also warned that it will not remain a mere spectator but will remain vigilant with the case till justice is delivered to the victims at all costs.
The signatories expressed confidence that the DGP would address the case on an urgent basis, and prevent unnecessary confrontation with the student community.
