SVC decries incomplete road project at Sitimi

Sitimi village council (SVC) has registered complaint with the PWD (Roads and Bridges) against “incomplete and poor workmanship” of road project from L-028 (Sitimi Town) to Shishimi under PMGSY scheme.

In a representation to the chief engineer, PWD (R&B), SVC chairman Kiyekhe stated that the construction of road started in 2023 with the total stretch of 15km.

However, SVC said that despite repeated appeals to the contractor for maintaining quality workmanship, the road construction was poor in quality. It said that approximately 350 metres of road was yet to complete soiling and blacktopping. Further, SVC said even the completed road was in dilapidated condition at many locations.

In this regard, SVC has appealed to the department to direct the responsible contractors to complete the work with quality workmanship without further delay. The council also urged the department to intervene and ensure completion of road with quality workmanship at the earliest to avoid any misunderstanding in the future.
