The Food Safety Wing (FSW) of Mokokchung Zone in collaboration with Longleng Town Council conducted a comprehensive Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC) program at DC conference hall, Longleng on April 25.
The event led by an FSSAI-empaneled trainer, aimed at enhancing awareness and practices related to food safety among food business operators, vendors, and other stakeholders for Food handlers under Longleng district.
Y. Shingli Phom PA to DC Longleng, in his short speech highlighted the importance of food safety in the district.
The training covered essential topics including hygiene practices, food safety regulations, proper food handling, and the importance of maintaining cleanliness in food establishments.
Participants were awarded certificates upon completion, under the guidelines of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
As part of the initiative, the FSW team also organized a live demonstration on common food adulterants, educating attendees on how to identify adulterated food items using simple household techniques.
The demonstration drew significant attention and engagement from the participants, further reinforcing the importance of food safety in daily life.
Speaking at the event, trainer Anup Kumar Tewari (National Master Trainer & Lead Assessor) emphasized the role of informed food handlers in preventing foodborne illnesses and promoting public health.
Sukumlo Yanthan FSO CMO Mokokchung, expressed gratitude to all participants and reiterated their commitment to conducting regular outreach programs to ensure safe food practices in Mokokchung and surrounding areas.
The participants for the training were from eateries, fish and poultry food Business owners and vendors under Longleng district.
