As part of the nationwide campaign commemorating 11 years of BJP-led NDA government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Dimapur district held a press conference-cum-exhibition and professional meet here on Saturday.
The event, organised on the theme “Viksit Bharat Ka Amrit Kaal” and “Seva, Garib Kalyan Ke 11 Saal”, was aimed at highlighting the achievements and transformational policies of the central government since 2014.
In his keynote speech, PHED minister Jacob Zhimomi described the occasion as “one of the most significant events” in the BJP’s political calendar, reflecting on the sweeping changes brought about under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. “This campaign is being observed not only across the country but also in Nagaland, including in Kohima and now Dimapur,” Zhimomi stated.
Highlighting key achievements, he said that over 270 million people have been lifted out of poverty through targeted and transparent governance mechanisms such as Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and schemes like PM Garib Kalyan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, PM Awas Yojana, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and Jal Jeevan Mission.
He credited the success of the initiatives to the government’s participatory model and policy execution that involved both the Centre and states. “The Modi government has been responsible, accountable, and responsive on all fronts,” Zhimomi asserted.
On economic progress, Zhimomi underlined India’s rise from the world’s 7th or 8th largest economy in 2014 to now becoming the 4th largest economy. He said that under the “Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative”, India significantly reduced its dependence on imports, with Make in India and MSME development creating tangible results at the grassroots.
He also pointed out the substantial impact of central schemes on households, especially in the healthcare sector through Ayushman Bharat, which has reduced out-of-pocket medical expenses.
Zhimomi also lauded the government’s commitment to women empowerment, education reforms through NEP 2020, and defines self-reliance.
“Prime Minister Modi’s governance has transformed India’s development narrative from slogan-based politics to result-driven implementation,” he said and urge the people of the state to join hands in making the state an active partner in the journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047.
Also, addressing the media, advisor for tribal affairs and election, Tovihoto Ayemi highlighted the strides made by the country under PM Modi’s leadership. “Summarizing the last 11 years in a single sitting is a challenge. But we all can witness the transformation. With the adoption of advanced technologies and citizen-centric governance, India is now progressing alongside the rest of the world,” he stated.
Ayemi emphasized that while not all states are governed by the BJP, those with BJP or allied governments have witnessed marked progress. “The poor are now at the centre of policymaking, not just statistics. Schemes like PM Gareeb Kalyan Anna Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana, and Jal Jeevan Mission are benefiting millions,” he added.
He praised PM Modi’s vision of transformation over retaliation while highlighting “decisive actions” such as the abrogation of Article 370, the implementation of GST, and the ban on triple talaq.
BJP Nagaland state unit president Benjamin Yepthomi, made an announcement regarding the party’s newly appointed state office bearers for the term 2025–2028.
Reiterating the party’s inclusive spirit, Yepthomi said “BJP is the largest political organization in the world. We have space for everyone.”
He said that Nagaland recorded over 2.6 lakh primary memberships and around 5,000 active members.
