ILP implementation: NSF seeks govt’s update on action taken

DIMAPUR, JUN 17 (NPN)

Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) Inner Line Regulation Commission (ILRC) has urged the state government to provide update on action taken over its ten-point memorandum submitted on April 4, 2025.
In a reminder to the state chief secretary, ILRC chairman Senchumo NSN Lotha, NSF vice president Mteisuding and ILRC member secretary Seve R. Vadeo said that memorandum was explicit and addressed issues of the highest importance concerning the stringent enforcement of the Inner Line Regulation (ILR) in Nagaland.
The signatories said NSF did not intend to confront the government as the present dispensation was wise enough to read the ‘Writing on the Wall’ — the consequences of lackadaisical implementation of the ILR in Nagaland.
Asserting that stringent enforcement of the ILP system was essential to the socio-economic security of the Nagas, NSF affirmed its commitment to enduring “any hardship to achieve this security, especially for upcoming generations of Nagas.”
Further, NSF assured to extend cooperation to the government if called upon. However, the NSF said it was “resolutely committed” to ensuring the full implementation of the ILR provisions in Nagaland and would take all necessary measures to achieve this objective.
