NRA announces 10th Nagaland Shooting Championship

DIMAPUR, JUN 19 (NPN)

The 10th Nagaland Shooting Championship 2025 in Small Bore Rifle & Pistol events will be held at Aries Sports Complex Shooting Ranges, Bamunpukhuri-I, Dimapur from July 22 to 26, 2025 organized by Aries Rifle and Pistol Shooting Academy, Khelo India Centre, Dimapur and conducted by the Nagaland Rifle Association as per Rules and Regulations of the NRAI Matchbook 2024.
A press release by the secretary of Nagaland Rifle Association (NRA), Vikuo Metha stated that competitors who wants to participate in this championship are requested to go through instructions carefully for their own convenience to ensure smooth and successful conduct of the championship.
The participation is open to registered shooters of Affiliated District Rifle Associations/Club/Academy and the competition will be conducted in individual events. Furnishing wrong Information for registration would attract disqualification. The entries will be accepted from respective District Associations/Club/Academy only and the entries will be accepted only “on NRAI’S online system” and no paper entry will be accepted. The shooters are required to visit the NRAI website www.thenrai.org to file their entries along with online payment of entry fee. Online entries with normal fee will be accepted till 06.30 pm on July 18,2025. Late entries with triple entry fee will be accepted till 06.30 pm on July 20,2025.
In case any shooter/affiliated unit need any assistance for filling the entry he/she must approach NRAI immediately but before 6:30 pm on July 18, 2025 so that their entries are accepted with normal fee. Shooters contacting for assistance after 18th July 2025 are liable to pay triple fee.

Shooters who have not received/ applied for their shooter id number, must immediately visit NRAI website www.thenrai.org to check status/apply for their shooter id number.
Shooters, who are already in possession of shooter ID, are not required to apply for fresh ID registration and entries will be accepted on existing registration.
Shooters, who are completing the age, as stated below in 2025, will be allowed to participate under age categories matches:
Juniors – 21 years Born in 2004 or above
Youth – 19 years or below-Born in 2006 or above
Sub Youth – 16 years or below-Born in 2009 or above
Masters – 45 to 60 years -Born in 1965-1980
Senior Masters – 61 to 70 years-Born in 1955-1964
Super Masters – 71 years-Born in 1954 or above
Juniors may participate in senior category. The youth may participate in senior and junior category matches. The sub youth category shooters are allowed to participate in all categories except masters, senior masters and super masters matches.
No certificates will be issued to shooters failing to achieve the qualifying scores as per Rules 1.4, 2025 during the 10th Nagaland Shooting Championship. Protest fee is Rs. 200/- and in case an appeal is filed with the Jury of Appeal, then the fee is Rs. 500/-. The fee will be returned if the protest is upheld and retained by the Organizers if the protest is lost. In case of non-participation by the competitors after submission of their entries, refund of the entry fee will not be allowed. Shooters below the age of 12 years are not allowed to participate in fire arm events during this championship.
Award of medals: Medals will be awarded as under:- i. 3 medals where there is a minimum of 4 entries. ii. 2 medals where there is a minimum of 3 entries. iii. 1 medal where there is a minimum of 2 entries. iv. No medal in case there is a singly entry. v. Foreign Nationals may be awarded souvenirs vi. Master/ Senior Master and Super Master’s category shooters are exempted.
Ammunition: Ammunition will be issued against payment only on valid arm license of Associations/ Club/ Academy/ Individual or proper special permit issued by the licensing authorities. In case of inadequate authorization, special permits for the required quantity must be obtained from the local licensing authorities. Unused round and empties of used round are to be returned to Nagaland Rifle Association.
The Organizers will have the right to close any match or event in case of any emergency or otherwise without assigning any reason for such an action on their part. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to amend the rules at any time at its sole discretion for events/circumstances beyond its control.
Any decision made by the Organizing Committee in any such matter will be final. All participants are expected to abide by the rules and regulations for the competitions. Discipline on and off the field is very essential.
