2 students from Nagaland attend Sakura Science Program in Japan

DIMAPUR

Two students from government schools in Nagaland—Shethilu Medeo of Ruzhukhrie Government Higher Secondary School and Iris Zomawii Lushai of Chumoukedima Government Higher Secondary School—were selected to participate in the Sakura Science High School Program held in Japan from June 13 to 21.
According to DIPR report, the duo was selected by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, based on academic merit under criteria set by Samagra Shiksha/NBSE. The team was led by supervisor Gihukali Sema, PGT, Chumoukedima GHSS.
The programme is part of the Japan-Asia Youth Exchange in Science initiative under the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), supported by the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), MoE, Government of India.
The week-long programme included visits to schools, universities, and scientific and cultural institutions in Japan.
The aim was to foster scientific interest and international collaboration among exceptional high school students. Participants also took part in group activities and presentations during the visit.
