District-level awareness and benefit saturation camps under the “Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JGUA)” were held at Kigwema village in Kohima and at Shamator village on June 23.
According to DIPR report, at Kigwema, the programme was organised by the office of the SDO (C), Jakhama in collaboration with line departments. SDO (C) Vineikho Tetso said the camp aimed to bring governance closer to the people and ensure 100% coverage of eligible beneficiaries under various government flagship schemes. He emphasised the role of public participation and inter-departmental coordination.
During the event, beneficiaries were able to interact one-on-one with line departments, and on-the-spot enrolments were carried out under various schemes. Sessions were held by representatives from the Medical department, Deputy CMO Kohima Dr. Imchatoshi, CDPO Jakhama Zambemo Jami, and BDO Jakhama Vilopi Sa.
The camp was attended by village representatives from Kezoma, Kidima, Pfuchama, Phesama, Mima, Kigwema, Jakhama, Viswema, and Khuzama. The welcome address was delivered by Kigwema Village Council chairman Balie Kere, while the programme was chaired by EAC Kezocha Limakumla Pongener.
Meanwhile, under Shamator sub-division, the District Administration and District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) conducted a similar DA-JGUA awareness campaign, led by CDPO Shamator, M. Lakiumong.
The campaign included awareness on women safety and security schemes, a PMMVY (Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana) registration drive, and sanitary pad distribution to promote menstrual hygiene.
A helpdesk was set up to assist pregnant and lactating mothers in PMMVY registration. A similar outreach activity was also held earlier on June 22 at Yakor village, Shamator.
