Bethel Baptist Church Kohima (BBCK) celebrated foundation day on June 22 at its church premises, New Market, Kohima, bringing together members, church leaders and well-wishers in a spirit of worship and thanksgiving.
The programme was led by Azonuo Chale, chairman of the Women’s Department, while the sermon was delivered by Khrienuo Moa, Managing Director of G. Rio School, who encouraged the congregation to remain grounded in faith and Biblical truth.
The service began with a call to worship led by Bangmei and scripture readings from both the Old and New Testaments by Akhel Achumi and Shahoto.
A special duet was presented by Visakholie Andrew and Milya Bumaye, with an offertory prayer by Mohon Singh and a praise performance by Atoka Swu. The service concluded with a benediction by Mass.
A moving testimony was shared by Suisui, a cancer survivor, who spoke about her healing journey and the role of prayer and faith in overcoming her illness.
It may be noted that BBCK was formerly known as Bethel Baptist Fellowship (BBF) and its new building was officially dedicated on June 25, 2023, by Rev. Tsolie Chase, senior pastor of Khonoma Baptist Church.
According to pastor Avilie Punyü, the church began as a small fellowship in 2023 to serve the spiritual needs of the New Market area and has since grown into a vibrant community of believers from various tribes and regions.
