3 VCs urge govt to repair Chakhabama-Mao road

DIMAPUR, JUL 1 (NPN)

Kidima Village Council, Kezoma Village Council and Kezo Basa Village Council have appealed to the state government to immediately repair the BSF Camp-Chakhabama-Kidima-Viswema/Mao Gate road.
In an open letter to the state government, the three village councils said it had been more than a month since NH-2 was cut off owing to landslide in Phesama area below Naga Heritage Village, Kisama. They said that so far affected NH-2 stretch has not been restored while Chakhabama-Kezoma-Kidima-Mao road was being battered beyond recognition.
They recalled that DC Kohima had issued traffic advisory for light vehicles to take BSF Camp-Chakhabama-Kidima-Viswema/Mao Gate road.
However, the village council said that despite the directive for light motor vehicles, heavy loaded vehicles in hundreds daily had badly damaged the road posing difficulty for the people of the area to travel unless immediate measures were initiated to mitigate the problems.
Therefore, the three village council have urged the state government especially to PWD (R&B) and district administration to immediately repair the road and issue proper directive to monitor traffic flow
