AR observe Doctors’ Day; lead civic and youth events across Nagaland

Dimapur

Assam Rifles marked National Doctors’ Day with a motivational lecture on the theme “More Than a Doctor: A Healer in Uniform” at Jalukie on July 1.
The session highlighted the selfless role of doctors in society and the armed forces, especially in challenging environments like remote areas, high-altitude borders, and emergencies.
Over 200 participants attended the event, which aimed to inspire and acknowledge the service of military doctors who serve with compassion and dedication beyond the call of duty.
In another initiative, Assam Rifles organised a tree plantation drive at Wangto village, Mon on June 26, as part of its civic action programme. Hundreds of medicinal and indigenous saplings were planted to promote environmental awareness and strengthen ties with the local community.
In Kohima, the force observed the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking by hosting a youth engagement event titled “A Day with the Company Commander” at IG Stadium.
The programme included awareness sessions on career opportunities in the armed forces and the ill effects of drug abuse.
Students from Kendriya Vidyalaya Kohima participated in various fitness and teamwork-based competitions, followed by a prize distribution ceremony.
According to Assam Rifles source, the event saw the participation of around 100 students and five teachers.
