Principal district & sessions judge cum special judge Kohima, Duvelu Vero, sentenced one Azhovi RK to three years imprisonment for sexual assault on minor girl. In a press release, SPP Kohima Sashimongla Jamir informed that the accused was convicted for the offence U/S 8 POCSO Act.
As per the judgment, the offence was sexual assault committed upon a child under 16-years of age.
The case was investigated by UBSI Dziesevino Yhoshu and prosecution was conducted by SPP Kohima. The special judge directed Kohima legal service authority to process for payment under the victim compensation scheme.
