The second FirstCry store in Kohima was officially inaugurated on Thursday at Old Minister’s Hill, further strengthening the brand’s presence in Nagaland’s capital city. The store, which caters primarily to infants and young children, is owned by Khriesanyü Miachieo.
Speaking to the media during the launch, Area Operation Manager Roshan Laishram said, “This marks our second store in Kohima and the sixth in Nagaland. We are excited to expand our footprint in the state, especially in Kohima, where the response from our first outlet has been overwhelmingly positive.”
Laishram highlighted that Firstcry, a leading retail chain specializing in baby and children’s products, operates both online and offline. However, the focus for the new store is on offline retail to meet growing local demand.
“Our target customers range from newborns up to 14 years of age. However, this particular outlet focuses specifically on the age group of 0 to 6 years. We also stock clothing and footwear items for children up to 7 or 8 years,” he added.
The store offers a wide range of 14 product categories including diapers, baby gear, health and safety items, and educational toys that support child development. Other essentials such as feeding products, bath and skincare items, and clothing are also available.
The Area Operation Manager emphasized that contrary to popular belief, offline customers can enjoy the same level of discounts as those shopping online. “If you’re getting a 30% discount online, you can expect a similar offer in our offline stores too,” he said, encouraging parents and guardians to explore in-person shopping for a more interactive experience.
Laishram also clarified that while FirstCry has a strong online presence with its dedicated app and website, the offline stores function under a different operational model, offering exclusive customer engagement and on-ground support.
Store timings will be from 10:00 AM to around 6:30 or 7:00 PM, with slight adjustments based on seasonal changes.
With this expansion, Firstcry continues to solidify its commitment to providing quality products for babies and children in Nagaland, aiming to cater to the unique needs of young families in the region.
Earlier, during the opening, prayer was pronounced by pastor, Khedi Baptist Church Kohima village, Kezhakietuo Belho.
