Khesheli elected chairperson of NIWA

Khesheli Chishi has been elected as the new chairperson of the Network of Indigenous Women of Asia (NIWA) during its 1st General Assembly held from May 21 to 24 in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
NIWA, formed in 2019, is a network of indigenous women’s organisations across 14 Asian countries.
Chishi, former president of Naga Mothers’ Association and advisor to the Indigenous Women’s Forum of North East India (IWFNEI), brings years of experience and leadership to the role. IWFNEI has congratulated her and expressed full support, appreciating her efforts in championing indigenous women’s rights at both regional and continental levels.
