Farewell programmes held forretiring officers across departments

Farewell programmes were held across various government departments to honour retiring officers who have served with distinction, including Commissioner K.S. Anden Konyak, Director of Food & Civil Supplies Chubawati Chang, and three senior officers from the Health department.
At the Office of the Commissioner, Kohima, a farewell function was organised on June 30 to honour K.S. Anden Konyak, IAS, who retired as Commissioner of Nagaland after 35 years of service.
The event was attended by Deputy Commissioners, senior officials, and representatives of the GBs, Dobashis and Village Guards.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner (HQ) Warren Holohon Yepthomi, the programme began with an invocation by pastor Mhonchumo S. Lotha. In his farewell address, Konyak reflected on his career, expressing gratitude to colleagues, his family, and encouraging younger officers to serve with integrity. Quoting scripture, he said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.”
Speakers including representatives from the Nagaland GBs Federation, Dobashis Association, and Village Guards lauded Konyak’s dedication and mentorship. Commissioner & Secretary LR, Dr. Zasekuolie Chusi, and Joint Commissioner Nokchasashi also praised his leadership. Special presentations were made by Moasunep K. Jingru, EAC, and the Commissioner’s Office staff.
Meanwhile, the department of Food & Civil Supplies held its farewell programme on June 30 at the Directorate’s Conference Hall, Dimapur, to bid farewell to director Chubawati Chang and other staff.
Advisor K.T. Sukhalu and secretary Limawabang Jamir attended the event. Chang, in his address, gave thanks for the opportunity to serve the department for 35 years.
Sukhalu encouraged the retirees to look forward to a new chapter while Jamir highlighted Chang’s leadership in bringing recognition to the department, particularly through supply chain reforms.
Additional director I. Anungba Sanglir shared some of Chang’s notable contributions including the Price Stabilization Fund and Route Optimization under NFSA.
The event was chaired by Deputy Director K. Mhonthung and concluded with a benediction by Sokentsing Kent.
On July 1, the Department of Health & Family Welfare also held a farewell at IDSP Hall, Kohima, honouring Dr. Vezokholu Theyo, Dr. Neisakho Kere, and Tiatoshi Amer. Principal Director, Dr. Mereninla Senlem, presented citations and thanked the outgoing officers for their years of dedicated service. The programme was chaired by Director (Health & ME), Dr. Sendimeren Aonok.
