MHSU holds meeting; forms education committee

Mopong Hongkong Students’ Union (MHSU) held its mid-term meeting on July 3 at Ukha village, Mon, attended by leaders of eight federating units, elders and village leaders from Mopong Circle.
According to a press release from media secretary, Jaitok Konyak, MHSU resolved to continue inspection drives at sub-centres, PHCs, and schools under its jurisdiction. The union also announced the formation of an “Education Committee” with M. Moba as convenor, Echi A as secretary, president Y. Lhamnyei as member, and all SMC chairmen as part of the team. During the meeting, the union declared that its 40th Sports Meet-cum-Literary Events and Federal Assembly would be held from January 6 to 14, 2026, at Ukha village. The event will include a one-day Cultural Day to promote and preserve traditional practices.
The house also unanimously approved the affiliation of Angchen Village Students’ Union, which will formally take effect during the 40th Federal Assembly.
