Bible Society of India (BSI) Dimapur Auxiliary released the first-ever Nagamese New Testament Audio Bible on Wednesday at Dimapur Rengma Baptist Church, Khermahal.
Caleb Martin, Associate Director of Media, Communication & IT, delivered the keynote message, highlighting the long journey and dedication behind the project. He said the launch was more than a ceremony—it was a celebration of teamwork and commitment. Martin shared that the translation and recording took over a decade, with translators working hard to ensure the message was clear and accurate in Nagamese.
He also spoke about the challenges faced during the process, including technical issues and spiritual resistance. Quoting Matthew 24:35, Martin reminded the gathering that God’s Word is eternal. He noted that some contributors had passed away, but their efforts continue to bless many.
The rugged audio devices are designed for ease of use and can help visually impaired individuals and those affected by leprosy. Testimonies shared during the programme showed how the audio Bible has transformed lives, some of whom had been using it for more than ten years.
James Ragland from World Cassette Outreach of India (WCOI) addressed the gathering and talked about the journey of audio Bible formats—from cassette tapes to solar-powered digital devices. He said WCOI has recorded the Bible in over 100 Indian languages and that the device also includes discipleship messages in Hindi. Ragland encouraged families and churches to use the devices regularly and not let them go unused.
Each audio Bible device, valued at Rs. 4,000, was distributed free of cost with support from donors and ministry partners.
The programme was chaired by Rev. Lumtsuo Ezung of NBCA. Invocation was led by Thenjamo Tsanglao, president of Dimapur Baptist Fellowship. Rev. Dr. Yiepetso Wezah, Auxiliary Secretary, BSI Dimapur, delivered the welcome address. NBCA Pastors Fellowship presented a special song and a recording report video was shared by Khontele Seb.
Vote of thanks was delivered by pastor Imsutoshi Jamir, one of the translators. The event ended with the hymn “Carry Your Bible” and benediction by Rev. Dr. N. Paphino, Auxiliary president, BSI Dimapur.
