A three-day Sepaktakraw Training Program organized by the Department of Youth Resources and Sports in collaboration with the ANPSA Central for Mokokchung district concluded at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex on Tuesday. The initiative marked a significant stride in promoting the traditional sport across Nagaland.
The camp brought together students from eight schools spanning Mokokchung, Wokha, Zunheboto, and Longleng districts. Under the guidance of experienced coaches and mentors, the young trainees engaged in intensive sessions focused on mastering the techniques and discipline required in Sepaktakraw.
Participants showcased remarkable enthusiasm and commitment throughout the training, reflecting not only growing interest in the sport but also the program’s emphasis on instilling values such as teamwork, perseverance, and discipline.
The camp concluded with a simple closing ceremony, recognizing the dedication of the trainees. As a gesture of appreciation and encouragement, each participating school received two Sepaktakraw balls and a net.
Organizers expressed their gratitude to the Department of Youth Resources and Sports for its unwavering support, noting that the programme’s success would not have been possible without its collaborative efforts.
